Welcome to Van Slag!
Van Slag is with 320 members the largest volleyball association for students in Utrecht. On this moment we are completely full. However, you can subscribe for the online waiting list in case some people are leaving the association.
Van Slag is mainly a fun association. We play in mixed teams. A minimum of two ladies or a maximum of four gentlemen have to be present at the field.
All matches are played on Tuesday nights. Trainings are not obligatory, but if you like to play in one of our highest groups, the courses offered by Olympos are a fine option.
Apart from the people in your own team you will easily meet new friends. Because we have an internal competition, you will always meet Van Slag players from other teams, and if you are done with your own match, you are always allowed to join other teams if they have a shortage of players. After the games you can have a drink and a talk in the sports café of Olympos.
Next to the regular matches we organize several mix-tournaments. During these special nights we play with some adjusted rules to make the games even more fun. All teams are mixed during these nights, so it is a great opportunity to get to know more people at Van Slag, too!
Apart from playing volleyball, Van Slag offers several parties and other activities. Last season we have set up committees, which has, among others, led to our very own Prom in the Galgenwaard (soccer stadium) in Utrecht.
In short, Van Slag is a lively mixed sports association, without commitments and ideal for busy students.
