Differences between Van Slag and Protos

There are two student volleyball associations in Utrecht: V.V. Van Slag and USV Protos. Each association has a different style of playing, and a different target group. If you choose your association, you want to be sure to choose the right one. Therefore we provide you with the table below, which lists the most important differences.

NeVoBo competition
Games are played both in the Olympos building as well as in other places, traveling is required.

Clarification competition
  • Group A (highest level) till Group G (beginners)
  • Each group has 6 teams
  • Season: 6 rounds of 5 matches (30 total)
  • End round: two teams promote
  • End round: two teams degrade
  • Between 18 to 22 matches during the year
  • One 'round' (the season)
  • The champion upgrades, sometimes the no 2 as well
  • Between zero and six teams can downgrade
  • Opponents can be non-student teams
Skill level Group A (highest level) till Group G (beginners);
Group A comparable to NeVoBo first division;
Several first division players in group A;
Group G suitable for absolute beginners.
3rd division till the 5th class
Playing days Tuesday night between 18:00 and 23:00 Mainly during the weekends,
sometimes Friday- or Thursday night.
Trainings Optional as course at Olympos.

Fairly all players in group A are joining the trainings.
